Oh, but it wasn't just the dance recital that we had to get back to Lexington for. The girls were also enrolled in First Presbyterian's Music and Arts Camp, which is always a great time. Reese and Callie were excited to return for their fourth and second years respectively. And they were going to welcome Libby Gipe into the experience as well. This year's theme was David and Goliath. Goliath was superbly played by Sean Gladding, one of the church's employees and all around great guy.
Through the LOGOS program on Wednesday nights Reese has been having a music class with Mrs. H for the past two years, but this was the first year Mrs. H taught at Music and Arts Camp. Reese was very excited to have her there and loved learning all the songs. Her enthusiasm showed clearly in her performance on that Friday, as you can see in the picture where she is singing loudly and swinging her sling with authority.
And of course, one of the best parts of the week was that the girls got to spend time with Libby, who is an incredibly sweet girl. They had a great time together at camp and after hours when they all convened on Pop and Birdy's patio next door. Just one more part of our life in Lexington to be thankful for.
